OML 40
A 498 km² Niger Delta oil license, jointly held by NEPL and Elcrest, with two producing fields and multiple prospects
Opuama Field
Discovered in 1972 (Opuama-1 well). Production from Opuama began in 1975, reaching a peak output of 11,000 barrels of oil per day (bopd) from five wells: Opuama-1, 3, 5, 6, and 7.
Gbetiokun Field
The Gbetiokun Field is situated to the southeast of OML 40 and was discovered in 1987 (Gbetiokun-1 well), drilled by Shell Petroleum Development Company (SPDC) and further appraised by Gbetiokun-2 (SPDC) drilled in 1990-91.
Sibiri Field
Abiala Asset
In 2022, Elcrest announced an agreement with Naphta Global Exploration & Production Ltd for a 95% equity farm-in to the Abiala marginal field, while Naphta retains a 5% carried interest.
